This repository provides a Docker image file and convenience scripts for [Subtitle2go - Open Source Automatic Lecture Subtitling](https://github.com/uhh-lt/subtitle2go) (developed by Benjamin Milde et al. at Universität Hamburg (UHH)).

It is not optimized for performance but offers a handy way to test the utility on your local system (without having to mess with its build dependencies) and allows you to create subtitles for your video within minutes.

Usage
-----

For your convenience, use the `subtitle2go.sh` script, which will build the docker image on first run, set the volume and run the subtitling process:

    ./subtitle2go.sh path/to/video(directory)

If the parameter is a directory, all video files in it (or any sub directory) will be analyzed.
The resulting `.vtt` file(s) are placed in the same directory as the source video file.

Manual build
------------

Create the docker image with

    git clone git@gitlab.cs.fau.de:heinloth/subtitle2go-docker.git
    cd subtitle2go-docker
    docker build -t subtitle2go .

Manual run
----------

Execute

docker run --rm -v path/to/videos/:/taget/ subtitle [OPTIONS] /target/videofile.mp4
